The Las Vegas Raiders had an absolutely brutal day on Thursday.

In addition to placing tight end Darren Waller on injured reserve and losing linebacker Blake Martinez to retirement, the Raiders put another key player on IR as well.

Hunter Renfrow Injury Update

Las Vegas put wide receiver Hunter Renfrow on IR with an oblique injury on Thursday, adding him to the team's growing list of injury woes. Renfrow will miss at least four games with the injury, meaning he won't be eligible to return until Week 14 at the earliest.

Renfrow had already been banged up this year, missing Weeks 3 and 4 with a concussion. While he'd taken a major backseat to Davante Adams and Mack Hollins in the Raiders' offense, he still ranked tied for third on the team in targets (29), fourth in receptions (21) and third in receiving yards (192), although he'd yet to catch a touchdown.

This is another setback in what has been a hugely disappointing campaign for both Renfrow and Las Vegas. The 26-year-old wideout's role has been severely diminished this season after he paced the team in targets (128), catches (103), receiving yards (1,038) and receiving touchdowns (9) in 2021, and that's unlikely to change when he returns unless Adams and Hollins go down as well.

The 2-6 Raiders will be extremely shorthanded for their Week 10 home date against the Indianapolis Colts on Sunday. The Colts have their own problems, so Las Vegas is still favored by 4.5 points on FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds (for now).
