Kansas City Chiefs fans will have to wait just a bit longer as their favorite team's entire 2022 NFL schedule will be released on Thursday night along with the rest of the league. They are starting to get bits and pieces through the yearly tradition of schedule leaks being revealed ahead of time, though.
The latest Chiefs leak pits quarterback Patrick Mahomes against Tom Brady in a matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Week 4's edition of Sunday Night Football. All eyes will be on this highly-anticipated contest that acts as a rematch for what was an exciting Super Bowl 55 showdown.
Chiefs Sunday Night Football
Mahomes has posted an impressive record of 58-16 across his five-year career, but three of those losses have come at the hands of Brady. The most crushing one has to be when Kansas City fell to Tampa Bay in the biggest game of them all by a score of 31-9 behind Brady's masterful performance.
The future Hall-of-Famer picked apart the Chiefs defense by completing 21 of his 29 pass attempts for 201 yards and 3 touchdowns. Meanwhile, Mahomes failed to toss a single touchdown pass for the first time during the 2021 season and ended the day with 270 yards to go along with 2 interceptions.
This is one of many tough matchups for the Kansas City as it looks to earn its fifth straight trip to the AFC Championship game. ESPN's Mike Clay has the Chiefs' schedule graded as the hardest one in the NFL, while the Buccaneers check in with the 11th-easiest set of opponents.
Keep in mind these teams rank second and third in FanDuel Sportsbook's Super Bowl 57 odds. Tampa Bay owns odds set at +750 and Kansas City is not far behind with odds set at +950. It'd be surprising to see anything but a a small spread for this early season matchup for the ages.
