Anthony Rendon Injury Update
Rendon was forced to leave Sunday's game in the sixth inning, and it was later revealed that the third baseman was dealing with left hamstring tightness. The injury isn't expected to be serious, but it's still concerning that Rendon's health has met another test this season.
The former MVP candidate hasn't been as explosive as Angels fans would like in 2021. He's recorded 6 home runs and 34 RBI to this point while slashing .240/.329/.382. Those are fine numbers for a starter, but Rendon's production leaves much to be desired when compared to his gargantuan salary.
If the third baseman is to ever find his groove and take off this season, he needs to stay healthy. The Angels could certainly use Rendon at full strength. They're 9.0 games back of first place in the AL West and own +3500 odds to win the division, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.
