The vibes were positive in New Orleans after a Week 1 win, but they've come crashing down following back-to-back disappointing losses. Offensive inconsistency and costly turnovers continue to plague the Saints and running back Alvin Kamara didn't hold back when expressing his thoughts on the topic.

New Orleans Saints News

Kamara was quick to point out how his fumble that led to a Carolina Panthers touchdown on Sunday was something that "can't happen." The Saints lead the NFL with 9 giveaways on the season thanks to 5 interceptions thrown by quarterback Jameis Winston and 4 fumbles. That is far from clean football.

“It’s f***ed up right now because we are shooting ourselves in the foot."

Kamara and Winston both stressed the importance of "execution" in their postgame comments. New Orleans is averaging 6.0 yards per play (tied for sixth in NFL), yet ranks in the bottom half of the league in red zone scoring attempts per game (3.0). The team's best offensive drives are not ending with touchdowns.

The Saints have some clear issues that need to be fixed if they want any shot of making the playoffs. Keep an eye on Winston in particular. Head coach Dennis Allen backed up his QB after the loss but mentioned that he is still playing through a back injury that could be the reason for his inaccuracy.

Kamara has posted an underwhelming 119 yards from scrimmage on 29 touches through two games this season. He'll have a shot to bounce back in Week 4 when the Saints take on the Minnesota Vikings in London. FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds list New Orleans as 2.5-point underdogs there.
