One of the big stories of the season for the Chicago Bears has surrounded contract talks with star wide receiver Allen Robinson.

There hasn't been much public talk about the negotiations through the season, and the latest update provided by Robinson makes that seem like bad news.

The Bears haven't reached out to Robinson about his contract since early in the season, and it's not like they haven't been active on that front. They gave running back Tarik Cohen a contract extension on September 20th.

Robinson is set to become a free agent at the end of the season. On his side he says he's just playing and trying not to think about the negotiations.

After Week 2 or Week 3, I was putting that behind me. It comes down to just playing. That’s the most important thing right now.

And of course, Robinson is playing incredibly well. Despite dealing with poor quarterback play from Mitchell Trubisky and Nick Foles, Robinson has hauled in 57 passes for 712 yards — ranking eighth and sixth in the NFL, respectively.

At this point, it sounds like Bears fans should be preparing to see Robinson suit up somewhere else in 2021.

FanDuel Sportsbook has the Bears as a coin-flip to make the postseason at this point, with equal -110 odds to make or miss the playoffs.
