Chicago Bears wide receiver Allen Robinson is one of this offseason's premier free agents, and there'll be a line of suitors if he and the team can't agree to a new deal. Robinson has been very honest about his feelings on the contract negotiations, and they're not exactly positive thoughts.
The latest update on the two sides' talks is extremely concerning news for Bears fans hoping to see Robinson re-sign with the team.
According to NFL insider Tom Pelissero, Robinson and the Bears haven't talked about a new contract since September. It's partly understandable with the season going on, but if this was a priority for both sides, they surely would've made plans to revisit the topic. The fact that it's February and there's still be no contact is worrying from Chicago's perspective.
On the other hand, opposing teams must be licking their chops with Robinson on the verge of becoming a free agent. He just grabbed 102 receptions for 1,250 yards and 6 TDs with the Bears this past season, and any team in need of an elite wideout would be lucky to nab him this offseason.
Robinson has already stated his desire to play for a contender, and it's very possible Chicago doesn't fit that staus in his eyes, meaning the seven-year veteran could be headed to his third NFL team in 2021.
