Alabama Gets Good News on Jaylen Waddle Following Surgery

Even though the Alabama Crimson Tide trounced their rival Tennessee Volunteers, 48-17, this past Saturday in Knoxville, it was not without serious loss.
One of Alabama's two star receivers, junior Jaylen Waddle, suffered a broken ankle that has rendered the remainder of his 2020 season over in Tuscaloosa.
While this was both a serious blow to Alabama's incredibly talented receiving corps with the likes of DeVonta Smith and John Metchie remaining, it wasn't all bad news on Waddle this week following his surgery.
Saban on Jaylen Waddle: "The surgery was very, very successful. The long-term prognosis is very good. ... Probably 6-8 weeks before he can really start real heavy rehab."

According to Alabama head coach Nick Saban, Waddle's surgery went very well and the long-term outlook for return following an injury as serious as the one Waddle suffered is highly optimistic.
Of course having to wait 6-8 weeks before Waddle can even begin rehabbing this ankle injury to make a return isn't great, but it's a relief to hear that things are going as well as they can on the current road to recovery to the highly-talented junior.
