It's no secret that Nick Saban's reign leading the University of Alabama's football program has transformed the Crimson Tide back into a national powerhouse.
However, with all of the talent that has passed through Tuscaloosa over the past decade or so, it can be hard to appreciate just how dominant Alabama has been in producing NFL personnel at the next level.
Following the final wave of cuts for the NFL's active 53-man rosters across the league ahead of the 2020 season kickoff this Thursday night, the Crimson Tide account for a nation-leading 55 NFL players across the league this year. And it doesn't take a mathematician to realize that's two more players than an entire NFL team can roster.
The Big Ten's Ohio State isn't too far behind with 50, but as far as the next-best SEC option, Bama can still field more than an entire starting 11 ahead of LSU's total of 42.
Last, but far from least important, if we dig well below the top 10 in this category, Alabama's in-state rival Auburn also accounts for fewer than half of the Tide's current total (55), with just 25.
