AL Rookie of the Year Odds: Guardians' Steven Kwan is Breakout Star One Week into 2022 MLB Season on FanDuel

The first week of the 2022 MLB season is complete, and Kansas City Royals infielder Bobby Witt has increased his lead for American League Rookie of the Year. While his Rookie of the Year odds have risen to +310, there's preseason longshots rising on FanDuel Sportsbook.

Steven Kwan of the Cleveland Guardians was not among the top 25 rookies in the odds when the season started. But the outfielder has moved up to No. 3 (+650) in the Rookie of the Year race after a hot start.

The 24-year-old is batting .385 through eight games with 5 RBIs and 7 runs scored in 26 at-bats. He does not have a HR, but Kwan reached base 19 times in six games - the second most since 1901, just behind Jay Bruce's 20 mark in 2008.

Another rising rookie to watch is Canadian native Matt Brash of the Seattle Mariners. His odds have been more than cut in half to +1500 to win AL Rookie of the Year.

The flamethrower was reaching the high 90s with his fastball in a solid debut with the Mariners, allowing 1 run through 5 innings with 6 Ks before allowing another run in the 6th inning to take the loss in a 3-2 defeat.
