AL MVP Odds: Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Favored over Shohei Ohtani in a Two-Player Race
The race to be named the American League MVP this season seems to be down to two players as Toronto Blue Jays slugger Vladimir Guerrero Jr. (+100) and Los Angeles Angels two-way superstar Shohei Ohtani (+165) continue to pull away from the rest of the candidates.
Ohtani is wreaking havoc both on the mound and from the plate. The 26-year-old phenom is hitting .270/.354/.615 on the season to go along with 19 home runs, 44 runs scored, 44 RBI and 10 stolen bases. Plus, he sports a 3-1 record as well as a 2.70 ERA and has racked up 73 strikeouts across 10 starts (53.1 innings pitched).
On the other side, Guerrero Jr. has been carrying a scorching hot bat all season long as he currently leads the AL with 22 home runs and is tied for the highest batting average at .342. His RBI total of 56 is tops in baseball and he also has far and away the best on base percentage at .444.
No matter how you look at it, this is shaping up to be an AL MVP race for the ages. Here's a look at the updated AL MVP odds on FanDuel Sportsbook.
