AFC Team Emerges as Possible Jerry Jeudy Trade Partner

The buzz around the Denver Broncos potentially trading a wide receiver is only growing louder as free agency marches on. Former first-round pick Jerry Jeudy seems to be the player drawing the most attention, though it's clear the Broncos won't let him go for cheap.

Though Denver's asking price is reportedly high, one AFC team has emerged as a possible trade partner.

Jeff Howe of The Athletic reports the New England Patriots "have called" about Jeudy recently. Howe adds New England is scouring the WR market, with DeAndre Hopkins and Odell Beckham Jr. also being considered.

The Pats are in obvious need of some help at wide receiver, especially after losing 2022 yards leader Jakobi Meyers in free agency. That means their current WR corps is set to feature incumbents DeVante Parker and Tyquan Thornton as top options in 2023.

New England did make one notable addition on Wednesday by agreeing to a deal with veteran JuJu Smith-Schuster for three years and $33 million. That still doesn't necessarily rule them out of the Jeudy sweepstakes, especially since his rookie-scale contract is perfect for the cash-strapped Pats.

A potential Broncos-Patriots deal will likely come down to trade compensation. Denver is rumored to be looking for a first-round pick in exchange for Jeudy, but may have to lower its expectations if no teams bite.
