Some tragic news broke on Tuesday, with the announcement that Adam Zimmer passed away on Monday, as reported by his sister Corri on Instagram.

Zimmer was just 38 years old and one season removed from last coaching in the NFL. His coaching career spanned from 2006 to 2022, winning a Super Bowl ring as an assistant linebackers coach with the New Orleans Saints and eventually working his way up to the Minnesota Vikings' defensive coordinator job.

Adam was the son of former Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer, and the two worked together for one season with the Cincinnati Bengals in 2013 and for eight seasons with the Vikings.

This is a heartbreaking story, and our thoughts, as well as those of the entire football world, go out to Zimmer and his family.
