Adam Thielen hurt his hamstring on a touchdown catch in the first quarter in Week 7, and getting a short week before a Thursday Night Football matchup with the Washington Redskins hasn't left him with enough time to heal up. He's now been ruled out for this one, giving Olabisi "Bisi" Johnson the opportunity to step up as the Minnesota Vikings' No. 2 wideout.

Bisi Johnson Fantasy Outlook Week 8

Thielen's absence leaves a huge void in the Minnesota passing game. They have been one of the league's most run-heavy teams this year, but Thielen still averaged 6.3 targets per game in the first six contests, which is tied for ninth among all wideouts with a 25 percent target share.

Johnson stepped up to play 71 percent of the Vikings' offensive snaps in Week 7's win over the Detroit Lions, and he tied Stefon Diggs with a team-high eight targets in that game.

A matchup with Washington positions Johnson well to return solid fantasy output with that kind of volume. The Redskins rank 24th in Football Outsiders' pass defense DVOA rankings, and they're one of only 10 teams allowing over 25.0 fantasy points per game to opposing wideouts in 2019.

The Vikings' offense is loaded with fantasy weapons this week, and both Dalvin Cook and Diggs sit in the top 5 at their positions in our Week 8 PPR fantasy football rankings. Don't sleep on Johnson though, as he offers plenty of value as a stop-gap starter if you're thin at wide receiver or need a bye week replacement for Week 8.
