All eyes are on Matthew Stafford and the Detroit Lions after the two parties mutually agreed to part ways with this offseason. At least 10 teams have already called about Stafford, and there's already rumors linking the QB with the Indianapolis Colts.

However, ESPN insider Adam Schefter offered some insight that goes against any Stafford-Colts noise that's arisen so far.

Obviously, the Colts aren't likely making their trade intentions known to people around the league if they're interested, given the number of teams expected to pursue the almost 33-year-old QB. Still, for someone as tapped in as Schefter to have not heard anything yet about a possible trade, that might be cause to tone down expectations for Colts fans.

It does make a lot of sense for Indy to pursue Stafford. Philip Rivers' retirement has left a gaping hole at starting QB for a Colts team that finished 11-5 and is positioned to contend in the immediate future.

With the third-most projected 2021 cap space, the Colts can absorb Stafford's contract and nab a weapon in free agency or re-sign T.Y. Hilton to surround the QB. Giving Stafford an elite offensive line to play behind would also position him for the best football of his career.

Still, there are other threats who could work out a deal for Stafford. The QB's availability headlines what will be a wild 2021 offseason.
