The Green Bay Packers are in do-or-die mode down the stretch. Getting a win in Week 17 against the Minnesota Vikings is a crucial first step toward making the playoffs.
Unfortunately, quarterback Aaron Rodgers popped up on the injury report with a knee issue and sat out Wednesday's practice. He seems to be confident in his status for Sunday's contest, though.
The veteran told reporters he doesn't have any worries about his availability for Week 17 against Minnesota. Rodgers said Wednesday was merely a rest day and he'll be back on the field Thursday.
This update certainly eases any worries. Rodgers took a low shot at the end of the first half against Miami on Christmas, but he was able to play through it the rest of of the game, suggesting it's nothing serious.
Rodgers being at close to full health as possible is vital for Green Bay down the stretch. He's already playing through a major thumb injury, so picking up any other ailments would throw a wrench in the team's playoff hopes down the stretch.
Hopefully Rodgers' rest day is all he needs to take care of this knee issue. He'll look to get revenge against the Vikings in their Week 17 rematch. The Packers are 3-point favorites in that contest, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
