Uncertainty around Aaron Rodgers' status with the Green Bay Packers has clouded the fantasy football outlook of everyone in the offense this offseason.

But with Rodgers back, Aaron Jones now has the potential to be one of the highest scoring (if not the highest scoring) running backs in fantasy football.

Aaron Jones Fantasy Football Value

In 2020, Jones finished as the RB5 in PPR scoring — falling off only slightly from his RB2 finish in 2019.

What's especially promising for his 2021 outlook is that he hit that mark while only seeing the field for 52% of the Packers' snaps.

This coaching staff absolutely loved Jamaal Williams, giving him a 40% snap share in 2020 despite his consistently under-producing compared to Jones.

This love of Williams was especially pronounced on passing downs, with Williams catching 79.5% as many passes as Jones over the last three years while seeing just 60.1% as many rush attempts.

We shouldn't expect Jones to just entirely absorb Williams' workload, especially with AJ Dillon in town, but any increase to his volume will be incredibly valuable from a fantasy standpoint. Dillon profiles more as an early-down back too, making him a more direct backup to Jones while Williams played more as a complement.

Volume is king at the running back position, and Jones turning in top-five numbers without a workhorse role highlights just how strong his efficiency is.

Jones checks in at RB9 in The Duel's 2021 fantasy football rankings, but with the promise of significant increase in volume in an offense led by the reigning NFL MVP, don't sleep on his potential for an RB1 finish.
