Well, when Fitzgerald was asked about current Brown's situation, which, of many things, has included him voicing his displeasure with Pittsburgh's starting quarterback, Ben Roethlisberger, Fitzgerald had a fairly blunt response.
"I don't think he understands how good he has it," Fitzgerald said.
Larry Fitzgerald weighs in today on Antonio Brown: “I don’t think he understands how good he has it.” https://t.co/nFTF6kxb5R— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 2, 2019
Now, Fitzgerald could be referring to Brown's contract or QB situation, but either way, you sort of have to side with Fitz on this one. Brown is in the midst of a very public dispute with the Steelers, one that seemed to linger on for part of two seasons now.
Brown and the Steelers have clearly come to a point where it would be very difficult for Brown to remain on the team next season, meaning a trade seems likely.
The three teams that have shown the most interest in wide receiver Antonio Brown to date are the Oakland Raiders, Washington Redskins and Tennessee Titans, per league sources. Thus, the battle for Brown could develop into a battle between Grudens, Jon and Jay.— Adam Schefter (@AdamSchefter) March 2, 2019
While it's not an answer you would necessarily expect to hear from Fitzgerald, it is interesting to hear him speak out like this prior to what will likely be his final season in the NFL.
