On Wednesday, former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick broke his silence for the first time since he reached a settlement with the NFL in his grievance case over the league's collusion to keep him off an NFL roster.

Kaepernick took to Twitter to break his silence, tweeting for the first time since Feb. 6. He tweeted out a video, which featured a number of people of different ethnicities embracing each other, with many of them dawning a plain black and white Kaepernick jersey.

Fast forward to 24 hours later, and those jerseys have officially sold out.

Nike signed Kaepernick to a new endorsement deal last fall, which includes the sale of merchandise. With Kaepernick not part of an NFL team, this jersey was the first iteration of that merchandise.

It will be interesting to see what other items Nike releases while Kaepernick remains off an NFL roster and equally as interesting to see how the strategy changes if or when he is signed.
