With all of the elite talent in the Western Conference, sometimes we take some of the one-on-one matchups for granted. Let's not do that tonight, when Russell Westbrook and the Oklahoma City Thunder take on Damian Lillard and the Portland Trail Blazers.

The last time these two faced off, Westbrook had some choice words for Lillard in the closing minutes of an OKC win. While the two were jawing at each other during free throws, Westbrook said, "I've been busting your ass for years."

Whoa. Westbrook may have an argument, though. At least on a personal level.

Westbrook has averaged 33.7 points, 8.0 assists and 7.1 rebounds over the last nine head-to-head matchups against Lillard. On the flip side, Lillard has averaged 26.4 points, 7.3 assists and 3.8 rebounds over that same time.

Despite the gap in stats, Lillard has gotten the better of Westbrook where it really matters – the scoreboard. Lillard's Trail Blazers have gone 6-3 in those games where both stars played.

OKC does have the 2-0 advantage this season, however, and also a three-game lead in the Western Conference standings. OKC is currently the No. 3 seed, three games ahead of No. 4 Portland.

Even if this game didn't have the Lillard-Westbrook drama, it's still a great battle between two of the best out west. FanDuel Sportsbook has the Thunder listed as 6-point favorites with the total at 231.
