Nick Foles won't be an Eagle for much longer, but he will always be in the heart of Philadelphia.
Apparently, Philly is in his heart too, and not just the Eagles.
Before the 76ers made a big trade to shore up their lineup, Foles, who is also the subject of trade rumors, had a funny tweet about what he can bring to the team.
Full trade details, per @wojespn— Bleacher Report NBA (@BR_NBA) February 6, 2019
Clippers receive: Wilson Chandler, Mike Muscala, Landry Shamet, two 1st round picks, and two 2nd round picks
76ers also receive: Boban Marjanovic, Mike Scott https://t.co/Ei1ggJdQcn
No, he's not as good as Tobias Harris, but he does have a pretty sweet jumper, and he wants the Sixers to know it.
The 76ers showed him some love back, inviting Foles to last night's game against the Raptors. It's nice knowing Philly will always appreciate what its Super Bowl hero did for the city, no matter who he's throwing balls to next season.
The Eagles are committed to Carson Wentz as their starting QB, meaning Foles is expected to be traded this offseason. Even though the Eagles opted into his contract and Foles opted out, the Eagles are expected to place the franchise tag on Foles and then trade him.
Sources: #Eagles QB Nick Foles is, in fact, buying back his freedom for $2M, voiding the new and final year of his contract. Now, he’s a free agent... unless Philly hits him with the roughly $25M franchise tag.— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) February 6, 2019
It seems a change of scenery is on the horizon for the former Super Bowl MVP, but his heart will clearly remain in Philly forever and Philly will likewise never forget him.
