It's safe to say it's never a great sign when a home team and favorite watches their spread over their upcoming opponent drop to nearly half of what it was initially. Especially if you're the Chicago Bears facing the defending Super Bowl-Champion Philadelphia Eagles in Sunday's NFC Wild Card matchup

The betting spread that had the Bears at as many as 9-point favorites via FanDuel Sportsbook just a few days ago has now plummeted to leave Chicago as 6.5-point favorites just one hour before kickoff.

Given this level of inexperience at the quarterback position, look for Chicago's backfield in Jordan Howard and Tarik Cohen to post bigger performances than usual against this Philadelphia defense.

It's hard to pinpoint just why this line has fallen by nearly a full five points just before beginning, but it certainly doesn't bode well for Chicago under a sophomore QB in Mitchell Trubisky making his first NFL Playoff start.

However, if there's any team that knows how to cover a spread it's the Bears. Chicago actually finished the 2018-19 season with the best ATS record in the league at 12-4 overall and also led the league in ATS record as the home team at 7-1.
