Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has already done enough in his career to go down in the school's storied history, but they may want to keep this bit of information out of the news.

Believe it or not, Tagovailoa wasn't an Alabama fan before enrolling there.

Thankfully, Tagovailoa didn't carry any of that minor resentment with him to Tuscaloosa, but it is understandable that he was rooting for his fellow Hawaiian, Manti Te'O.

The Crimson Tide take on the Oklahoma Sooners in the Orange Bowl  Saturday and come into the game as 14-point favorites. Tagovailoa ended up missing out on the Heisman Trophy to Oklahoma's Kyler Murray because of a shaky performance in the SEC Championship Game, but that has actually been a good motivating factor for similar players in the past.
