In fantasy football, there is nothing worse than losing your best player to injury. It happens every year, but it's still one of the toughest things to deal with in fantasy sports. The only thing that might be worse is losing your star player when you absolutely need him the most -- in the playoffs. And for Melvin Gordon owners, it just wasn't meant to be.

Gordon went down with a knee injury in Week 12 and has missed the last three games right in the middle of fantasy playoff season. It's a tough break for anyone with Gordon on their roster, even if they were able to pick up Austin Ekeler or Justin Jackson. If you were knocked out without Gordon and feel bad about it, don't worry, Gordon does too.

While it's obviously not as important as Gordon's overall well-being, it is great to see him acknowledge people's fantasy teams since plenty of people tweeted at him about it.

But Gordon also knows that you probably wouldn't even be in the playoffs if not for his play earlier in the season.

Gordon will reportedly be back on the field in Week 16 against the Baltimore Ravens. For any owners who have managed to stay alive, he might be coming back just in time to win you a championship.

It's highly uncommon to see a player pay a sliver of attention to his fantasy football owners' concerns, let alone apologize for letting them down, but Gordon is clearly a class act.
