The Washington Nationals have expressed doubt that they will re-sign superstar Bryce Harper, fueling speculation about where he will ultimately land.
The winter meetings begin on Monday, and rumors fly out of that event faster than a high school cheerleading squad. So let's start the gossip and identify the three best bets for Bryce.
3. Los Angeles Dodgers

Stars are naturally drawn to the bright lights of Hollywood. We consider this one a long shot, because the Dodgers would likely need to rework their roster to make this happen, but if there's mutual interest, it would happen quickly, perhaps this week.
2. Chicago Cubs

Believe it or not, the Joe Maddon and the Cubs have great pressure to repeat as World Champions and after a disappointing 2018 season, Harper could be the perfect talent infusion the team needs to return to the winner's circle. Bryce doesn't exactly fit the "nice guy image" that Anthony Rizzo and Kris Bryant bring to the North Side, but then again, neither does Addison Russell. One thing to consider with the Cubs, Harper and Bryant are very close friends, whether that could be something that sways Harper is yet to be known.
1. New York Yankees

Each winter, the Yankees find ways to do two things: Pay out big money for stars and to become even more insufferable to fans of other teams. Bryce Harper is a perfect vehicle to do both. Harper could practically bunt home runs to that right field porch and has previously hinted at a desire to play for the Yankees at some point in his career. The Yankees have been in and out of the rumor radar on Harper, but there have been plenty of times they have come out of nowhere to snag free agents away from other potential suitors in the blink of an eye.
