UCF's star quarterback McKenzie Milton suffered what appeared to be a gruesome knee injury in the second quarter of their game against rival USF. Milton going into this year was on the short list of Heisman hopefuls. He was in the midst of another great season with 24 touchdowns and five interceptions. It seems that season is now over.

Undefeated UCF was again trying to somehow work its way into the four-team college football playoff. Those hopes can most likely be considered lost now. The players from both teams were visibly distraught and almost immediately formed a circle around the injured Milton in support.

Most importantly, Milton had NFL aspirations that could now be in question if the injury is as serious as it looks. Although, if Willis Mcgahee can make it back after the terrible knee injury he suffered, you have to hope McKenzie can do the same.

Time will tell with test results but the initial outlook isn't good. A crushing blow for a team and a quarterback with a lot to be proud of.
