And just like that, Patrick Mahomes is back to threatening the single season passing touchdown record. With 37 through 11 games, he’s on pace for 53.8.

Peyton Manning currently holds the record with 55 (2013).
Mahomes was on pace to break the touchdown record earlier in the year but cooled off a bit in Weeks 4 and 5 with only one touchdown in those two games. Now, with a potential ketchup award on the line, Mahomes has picked up his play. He'll need to throw 18 touchdowns over the last five games of the season to tie the record.
Hard? Yes. Impossible? Not for Mahomes.
Mahomes has thrown at least 4 TD passes in 6 of his 12 career starts.

Can we stop for a second and appreciate how absurd that is? Even a HOF QB having a 12-game stretch like that would be nuts, but this is his first 12 games in the league.
The second-year stud has also become one of the highest-value fantasy pickups of all time. In fact, he might just be the best fantasy quarterback of all time.
Top five QBs in fantasy points through 11 team games of a season:

299.7 Patrick Mahomes, 2018
298.0 Tom Brady, 2007
292.5 Aaron Rodgers, 2011
282.5 Peyton Manning, 2004
270.2 Peyton Manning, 2013 https://t.co/PIzKchJo14
That's about 27 points per game for those of you scoring at home. On the season he already has 3,628 yards and 37 touchdowns and a completion percentage of 67.5 percent.
With two games against the Raiders left on the schedule, it's a real possibility that he'll break Manning's record and set new NFL and fantasy marks for others to chase after.
