Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Stefon Diggs put an absolute shakedown on Chicago Bears cornerback in last night's Sunday Night Football game. Unfortunately, the potential touchdown was missed due to an overthrown ball by Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins.
The play occurred mid-way through the first half, so it's hard to tell how the game would've played out had Cousins thrown a better pass, but it did prove to be costly since the Vikings ended up losing by less than a touchdown.
This route was a thing of beauty by Stefon Diggs. Completely wasted with a overthrow. pic.twitter.com/RXQa2xyZet— J Reid (@JReidNFL) November 19, 2018
Diggs was the game's leading receiver last night, finishing with 13 catches on an incredible 18 targets for 126 receiving yards and a touchdown. Fantasy owners of both Diggs and Cousins, alike, are probably shaking their heads today, imagining what those additional 10-plus fantasy points would have done foe their final tally.
One thing is for certain, Cousins didn't win too many people over last night with this missed opportunity but also throwing two interceptions in the process. Cousins remains the king of garbage time fantasy points, and last night was no different. If only he scored a few more earlier in the game, then who knows how this one would have played out.
