Todd Gurley, Saquon Barkley and James Conner are three of the four highest scoring running backs in fantasy football this season, and have single-handedly carried fantasy teams to victory at times. However, if Pro Football Focus can teach us anything, it's that fantasy performance doesn't necessarily translate to on-field performance.

PFF released their list of highest-graded running backs through Week 10, and surprisingly Gurley, Barkley, and Conner were nowhere to be found in the top five.

The two names that stand out in the fantasy world are clearly Frank Gore and Chris Carson as neither comes close to the production of these other backs. For these grades, PFF takes several factors, which don't include fantasy numbers, into account including pass blocking and run efficiency (yards per attempt).

So owners of Gurley, Barkley and Conner can take this list with a grain of salt as all three remain must-starts for the rest of the season. But if there's anything we can take away from this, it's that the trio may not be the complete backs we thought they were.
