Adrian Peterson may have dialed back the clock so far this season, but he still struggles when it comes to catching the ball out of the backfield.

While AP is the Redskins' early-down back, he typically doesn't catch the ball on third-down or on passing plays. That title belongs to Chris Thompson, or at least it did when he was healthy. With Thompson ruled out, Kapri Bibbs is expected to take his place Sunday, giving the change-of-pace back a big fantasy opportunity against the Atlanta Falcons.

Despite practicing in a limited fashion this week, Bibbs is expected to play in Week 9 and will be the player serving as Alex Smith's safety blanket this week. The veteran QB loves to throw to running backs as Thompson is second on the team in targets, despite missing two games. Bibbs has five catches on seven targets for 49 yards and a score while filling in for Thompson.

And he'll do that again against a Falcons defense that gets torched by receivers out of the backfield on a weekly basis. The matchup makes Bibbs a viable FLEX option with upside in 12-team fantasy leagues, making him a perfect bye-week fill in that can be had off the waiver wire this weekend.
