It took half the season, but Week 8 finally went "as planned." The biggest upset of the week was arguably the Carolina Panthers beating the Baltimore Ravens -- since the Panthers were home underdogs -- but we thought Carolina was already the better team as is evidenced by them showing up in our Week 8 Top 5.
With all of the top five winning this past week, there was simply a slight shuffle up at the top.

I'm really happy we included the Panthers in our Top 5 for Week 8. There was discussion to potentially leave them on the outside looking in, but an impressive 36-21 win over the Ravens as a home underdog cements the up-and-coming Panthers in the five hole.
4. New Orleans Saints (6-1) >> Last Week: 4

When you can win a game by 10 against a playoff-bound Vikings team in Minnesota with your future Hall-of-Fame QB throwing for just 120 yards, you've proven just how good a team you are. The Saints are the real deal and should compete with the Rams for the NFC crown.
3. Kansas City Chiefs (7-1) >> Last Week: 2

Another game, another Patrick Mahomes gem. Throwing for his seventh straight 300-yard game, and adding another four touchdowns, the Chiefs offense continues to impress. But with a 30-23 win over Broncos, KC drops one spot simply due to how hard it looked for them to pull off their seventh win of the season.
2. New England Patriots (6-2) >> Last Week: 3

The Patriots creep up one spot after a dominant win over the Bills on Monday night. They also beat the Chiefs head to head in Week 6. It just took us a couple weeks to flip flop the two in our Power Rankings. It's time to ride Brady and the boys all the way to the AFC title game.
1. Los Angeles Rams (8-0) >> Last Week: 1

After eking out a 29-27 win over the Packers, the Rams just keep finding ways to win. This could, should, might be the week that the Rams finally lose, taking on the Saints in the Superdome in what could be an NFC championship preview. But until they lose, the Rams remain at No. 1.
