New England Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski is having a disastrous fantasy season in 2018, and it doesn't appear to be getting any better.
Not only do the Patriots have a number of viable targets to throw to, one NFL insider thinks his back is worse than what's being led on.
As a guy with a bad back I really don't like the way Gronk looked walking past me off the field.— Ross Tucker (@RossTuckerNFL) October 30, 2018
He's not right.
It's not a total surprise, considering Gronk has dealt with a laundry list of injuries throughout these last few seasons, including on his back. However, he hasn't made much of a dent in the touchdown department since Week 1 when he scored his only TD of the season.
Gronk did have 97 receiving yards and a vital catch to lead the Patriots to a win over the then-undefeated Kansas City Chiefs in Week 6, but he's missed a game since then and had only three catches for 43 yards against the Bills.
I didn’t want to say this any earlier than Week 8.... but Rob Gronkowski looks washed as a pass catcher. No big plays, no explosion, very little separation when in man coverage. Not good.— Michael Colangelo (@MikeColange) October 30, 2018
We'll have to monitor the situation moving forward, but Gronk owners already knew they needed an insurance policy for not if, but when, he missed time with an injury. Hopefully, you still have that potential fill-in on your roster.
