The start to the NBA season has been red-hot with lots of high-scoring games, overtime contests and even a fight or two, and Blake Griffin gave us yet another exciting moment Monday night when he scored 50 points to knock off the 76ers in OT.

But that output clearly didn't catch the eye of many bookmakers as Griffin still sits at +6000 to win the NBA MVP, according to FanDuel Sportsbook. He still sits behind players like Kyrie Irving (+2500), who is averaging just 16.5 points per game, and Ben Simmons (+4000), who's been banged up -- and that's not even the top of the list.

There are 12 others players with better odds before you even get to Griffin. The still-favorites for the NBA MVP Award are Giannis Antetokounmpo at +350 and Anthony Davis and LeBron James at +410.

Clearly one game won't cause the odds to shift, but according to Basketball Reference's MVP Award Tracker, Griffin currently has a 41.2 percent chance to win the MVP. Now these probabilities are going off of a minuscule sample size, 3/82 to be exact, but it's still fun to think about.

On the season Griffin is now averaging 36.3 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. He's also shooting 53 percent from the field and an unreal 61 percent from three. If he keeps this up for the entire season, yes he will almost absolutely win the MVP. But for now, let's just enjoy his early season hot streak and maybe take a chance on Griffin's +6000 MVP odds.
