The Patriots played last week without their star tight end Rob Gronkowski and lost rookie running back Sony Michel during the game to what looked like a potentially season-ending knee injury.


Luckily, the latter wasn't the case and Michel is only expected to be sidelined for another week or two. Gronk could potentially be back this week -- to play in front of his hometown Buffalo fans -- against the Bills on Monday night.

Gronk hasn't really had a game worth mentioning since Week 1 when he put up 7 catches for 123 yards and a touchdown. Maybe the the time off to get healthy will change this and he'll to back to being the TE1 many owners drafted him to be.

​And finding out Michel will only likely miss a few games is surely a relief for Patriots fans and fantasy owners alike, especially given how well he had been playing before the injury. In the meantime, Kenyon Barner becomes a FLEX fantasy option and James White's value increases as he'll most likely become more than just a pass-catching back with all those additional touches now available.

​It's encouraging news about Michel, but worth monitoring the Gronk situation as the week goes on. If Gronk plays, he's a TE1 this week, but it would be smart to have a viable back-up plan with the Pats playing on Monday night.
