After disappointing rookie and sophomore campaigns, Tyler Boyd finally seems like he's living up to his first-round billing in 2018. However, based on his current pace of production, the third-year wideout could end up with better numbers than another Bengals first-round wideout.
Through the first six games of the season, Boyd is currently on pace for 99 receptions, 1,213 yards receiving and 11 touchdowns. That's a pretty impressive line as it is, but what makes it even more impressive is that he'll finish with better numbers in each category than teammate A.J. Green did last year, if he keeps up the pace through the remainder of the season, that is.
Being in the same company as Green would be an incredible achievement considering he's been one of the NFL's best pass catchers for the past several seasons. While impressive, it's unlikely that Boyd can keep it up.
Green and Joe Mixon are bound to eat into the third-year wide receiver's target share depending on Cincy's opponent, which could keep him quiet every few weeks or so. Yet, Boyd hasn't seen less than seven targets since week two and can easily be started as a quality WR2/WR3 for the remainder of the season.
