Clemson freshman quarterback Trevor Lawrence has been ruled out for the remainder of today's game against Syracuse after suffering a concussion late in the first half.

Lawrence took a monster hit knocking him both literally and figuratively into next week.

After being helped to the sideline and into the medical tent for evaluation, Lawrence went to the locker room, and won't be returning for the second half of a game where the No. 3 ranked Tigers were trailing 16-7 at the half.

With Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney naming Lawrence the starting quarterback this week, ahead of Kelly Bryant, and Bryant then announcing he would be transferring from Clemson, third stringer and now-backup Chase Brice will be under center the rest of the game.

This whole situation, which was already complicated, just got turned up a notch. How long Lawrence will be out for or if Bryant would return to the Tigers are now questions facing Clemson moving forward.

Only time will tell, but Clemson will first need to avoid an upset today against Syracuse.
