Baker Mayfield or Derek Carr: It's not exactly the top fantasy debate many owners are having. However, considering the two will square off against one another this weekend, it's definitely worth looking into.

Mayfield had an excellent debut last Thursday, leading the Browns to a comeback win over the New York Jets for their first victory since 2016. Thanks to his heroics, the rookie signal-caller earned the start for Cleveland's Week 4 matchup with the Oakland Raiders.

Mayfield's first start of the season is well deserved, but fantasy owners should be hesitant to start him despite his strong debut.

The Oklahoma product has all the potential in the world, but he's still a rookie and there's bound to be some growing pains, especially since he's making his first start on the road.

Carr had a rough start to the season against an elite Los Angeles Rams secondary, but he's put up respectable fantasy numbers ever since. Over his last two games, Carr has averaged a little over 15 points in standard leagues.

Not exactly the best average you'd want from your quarterback, but they're adequate enough to keep your team competitive every week.

Even though Mayfield has an enticing matchup against Oakland's terrible defense, going with an established player over a rookie is usually the safer choice. Until Mayfield proves his worth, Carr should be the safer start.
