Crowded backfields are always tough to navigate for any fantasy football player. That being said, it makes plenty of sense that the Baltimore Ravens' backfield has been an absolute nightmare this season.

Buck Allen and Alex Collins are both solid running backs and each has had their moments in the early going. Yet, while Collins has been the better runner, Allen could be the Ravens running back to own.

The stat sheet doesn't make Allen look that great, to say the least, but he's been a better fantasy running back than his counterpart.

The Ravens' coaching staff likes Allen a lot, which is why it makes sense that he's out-snapped Collins 111 to 104. He's also outscored him by almost 12 points in PPR leagues thanks to a 17 to nine targets advantage. However, what really gives Allen value is Baltimore uses him in the red zone, which only further increases his value.

It'll always be a tough call unless either back gets injured, but for now, starting Allen over Collins seems like the safest option thanks to his slightly heavier workload, his red-zone snaps, and usage in the passing game.
