Newly-acquired New England Patriots wide receiver Josh Gordon is bringing in droves of hype from the fantasy football community since being traded from the Browns, but let’s pump the breaks a bit.

The embattled former Pro Bowler has played only 11 games in the 80 he was eligible to play since 2013, missing the rest because of suspensions and multiple off-field issues. His latest gaffe, a hamstring pull that took place at a Cleveland Browns promotional event, caused him to miss the Week 2 meeting against the New Orleans Saints.

Not only has Gordon not played in a large percentage of games, but he isn't guaranteed to play in New England. This is a trial run. The Patriots could cut him this year and not give up too much. Plus, when Julian Edelman returns from suspension, he'll get a large share of targets from his BFF Tom Brady.

So, what will Gordon look like in New England? We know Bill Belichick has a zero-tolerance policy, and that doesn't bode well for a guy that can't stay out of his own way.

Most people day-dreaming about the second-coming of Tom Brady-Randy Moss are delusional. Gordon still has to learn the complex Patriots playbook, and you know, actually be on the field. Not to mention, it's not like he's getting any better with all the time missed.
