The New York Yankees were on a torrid pace when it came to home runs. As the season comes to a close, they're in a tight race to the finish. A huge piece of that success has now returned as Didi Gregorius is back in the lineup.

With the slugging shortstop returning, the Yankees are in good shape when it comes to reaching the single-season record of 264 home runs.

This all depends on which Gregorius we see.

If this is the April version of the shortstop, this should happen no problem. He hit 10 bombs that month but quickly cooled off. Since then, he's never hit more than four in any other month this season.

Still, if he could hit four this month, it would push them past their current pace which is to tie the old record.

Obviously having Aaron Judge returning would be a huge pickup, but the arrival of Didi is something that can't be ignored.
