Le'Veon Bell isn't walking through the door of the Pittsburgh Steelers facility any time soon. Well, at least not for their Week 1 matchup with the Cleveland Browns.

That means that backup running back James Conner will be the starter. Despite being a third-round pick in 2017, his teammates, specifically Maurkice Pouncey, have expressed the utmost confidence in him to blossom this season.

Pouncey is, of course, referring to how Conner had Hodgkin's Lymphoma while in college, but beat it and has been cancer-free for more than two years now. Considering he was still a third-round pick, despite the illness, there's a pretty good chance he would have been a higher draft pick if he'd been completely healthy.

This confidence isn't unwarranted either as Conner rushed for 3,733 yards and 52 touchdowns in college. He also played very well this preseason.

In his rookie year with the Steelers, Conner got some action rushing for 144 yards on 32 carries. He might be able to surpass that mark in just a couple of games if Bell continues to hold out.

Conner has big shoes to fill this Sunday, but if his teammates are confident in his ability, you should be too.
