The LA Rams have a defense loaded with stars, headlined by Aaron Donald and Ndamukong Suh, although, it's being reported that they almost added another one. The Rams apparently made a significant offer to the Oakland Raiders last week in an attempt to acquire Khalil Mack.

A trade for Khalil Mack would have put arguably the two best defensive players in the NFL on the same defense, making an already scary defense that much more potentially dominant.

The Raiders strongly considered the offer, but ultimately turned it down because they thought the high draft picks the Rams were handing over would have ended up too late in their respective rounds. Basically, they thought the Rams would be too good.

It's a fair and logical train of thought. It is very likely the Rams will finish with a better record than the Chicago Bears, thus making their offer less attractive to Oakland.

While it is not known what the exact offer from the Rams was, if the Raiders were considering draft picks potential landing spots, you have to assume the Bears and Rams offers were very similar.

What a frightening defense that would have been.
