We all know that when it comes to on-the-field success, Tom Brady is the GOAT. With five Super Bowl rings, three NFL MVPs and 13 Pro Bowl nods, it's hard for others to compare to that level of greatness. But in the world of fantasy football, there are some much better options at quarterback than Brady.
1. Aaron Rodgers, Green Bay Packers
Rodgers is one of the few QBs truly ranked above Brady in terms of 2018 fantasy predictions, but there's good reason for that. Rodgers got hurt last season, but he averaged 344.9 fantasy points per season (21.6 points per game) over the previous three seasons, and that's easily enough to warrant being the first QB taken off the board.
2. Cam Newton, Carolina Panthers
Newton was one of just two QBs who outperformed Brady last season, and that was thanks to his 754 rushing yards and six TDs on the ground. Quarterbacks who can also run the ball have always been incredibly valuable in fantasy, and Newton is one of the best. If he can shake some of the inconsistencies in his passing game from last season, then Newton is a clear cut QB1.
3. Russell Wilson, Seattle Seahawks
Wilson was the No. 1 QB in fantasy in 2017 under traditional scoring, and he built that lead by a wide margin. He tied a career high with 34 TDs, 586 rushing yards and three rushing TDs to further bolster his numbers. With the Chris Carson/Rashaad Penny backfield situation still up in the air past Week 1, most of the offense will fall on Wilson to put up big numbers once again.
