Would you rather have Derrick Henry or Alex Collins on your fantasy team?
That's a question many fantasy owners are going to answer themselves come the second or third round of their drafts in the next week.
The two backs are currently neck and neck in running back ADP with Henry at No. 17 and Collins at No. 18.
Let me preface this by saying I believe it's a no-brainer between these two in favor of Henry. Henry is a special back, and he's primed to use 2018 to show the rest of the league.
Henry put up 744 yards and five touchdowns last season playing behind Murray, and with a back like Dion Lewis behind him on the depth chart, he's going to have some pressure and drive to keep the starting job through consistent production.
Alex who? Okay, maybe I'm not that low on Alex Collins, but I'm just trying to express how much I'd rather have Henry on my team with that pick than Collins. Collins finished with more rushing yards and one more touchdown on the ground than Henry last year, but I just get the feeling six touchdowns and 973 rushing yards is the ceiling for a back like Collins.
Joe Flacco is firmly the starting quarterback for Baltimore in Week 1, but don't forget about dual-threat Lamar Jackson behind him. If things go south with the Ravens this season, we could see Jackson get his first start and take a lot more rushing numbers away from Collins in Baltimore. If Jackson has shown one thing in preseason, it's that he isn't afraid to tuck the ball and gobble up some rushing yards.
Collins would be lucky to finish 2018 with anything near his 2017 numbers, while Henry should see his 2018 campaign bring him knocking on the door of indisputable Tier 2 of fantasy running backs.
