The NFC West has rich football history, featuring some of the most prolific offenses in NFL history. Leading these offense were terrific passers, and some of these passers changed the game of football forever.

These are the five greatest quarterbacks in NFC West history.

5. Matt Hasselbeck, Seattle Seahawks (2001-10)

Matt Hasselbeck helped to bring quality football back the Seattle. Hasselbeck led the Seahawks to five consecutive playoff berths from 2003 to 2007, and they even reached the Super Bowl for the first time in 2005. He was voted to three Pro Bowls and ranks second in franchise passing yards (29,434).

Russell Wilson became the Day 1 starter in 2012, and he has not missed a game for the Seattle Seahawks since. During this time, he has racked up franchise-highs in passing yards (29,734) and passing touchdowns (227), while throwing just 68 interceptions. He has led his team to double-digit wins in all but one season, and he is a seven-time Pro Bowler and Super Bowl champion. Yet, Wilson has never received a single MVP vote.

3. Steve Young, San Francisco 49ers (1987-99)

Following in the footsteps of Joe Montana, Steve Young was able to make a name for himself, which is really saying something. Young is a three-time Super Bowl champion, two-time MVP, seven-time Pro Bowler and six-time All-Pro. He ranks third all-time in San Francisco 49ers passing yards (29,907) and second in passing touchdowns (221).

2. Kurt Warner, St. Louis Rams (1998-2003), Arizona Cardinals (2005-09)

Kurt Warner's place on this list is interesting, because he enjoyed a successful stretch with two NFC West franchises. He was most successful with the St. Louis Rams, passing for 14,447 yards and 102 touchdowns, being named to three Pro Bowls and two All-Pro teams. Warner also won a Super Bowl and two MVP awards with the Rams. He passed for 15,843 yards and 100 touchdowns with the Arizona Cardinals, making a Pro Bowl and leading the team to a Super Bowl appearance. Leading two separate NFC West franchises to a Super Bowl is also worth bonus points here.

1. Joe Montana, San Francisco 49ers (1979-92)

On top of that, he has been named to eight Pro Bowls, six All-Pro teams and he is a Hall of Famer. Montana is the 49ers franchise passing leader, with 35,124 yards and 244 touchdowns.
