49ers Targeting Pass-Rushing Depth With Latest Free Agent Visit
By Larry Rupp

The San Francisco 49ers have already been busy in free agency this offseason signing center Alex Mack, linebacker Emmanuel Moseley and more. Well, it looks like they could be targeting some pass-rushing depth next with their latest free-agent visit.
San Francisco hosted former Las Vegas Raider Arden Key for a workout and could possibly sign him to a deal prior to the NFL Draft. The former third-round pick has dealt with some injuries and was waived this offseason to clear up some salary cap space.

Key appeared in 37 games over three seasons in Las Vegas totaling 49 tackles, 3.0 sacks and 2 passes defended. He also had 26 quarterback hits and proved to be capable of disrupting opposing backfields. This would seem to be a low-risk, high-reward type of signing.
At just 25 years old, Key has time to still develop and become an even more reliable player in the NFL. He needs playing time in order to do so and could be a solid rotation player for San Francisco next season. Key also seems motivated to prove he has what it takes to contribute.
"I will not only impact the next team I play for in a positive way, but I will impact the community that looks up to me in a bigger way!"

We'll see if the next step of Key's football journey is in the Bay area.
