49ers Get Big Christian McCaffrey Injury Update on Thursday

The San Francisco 49ers returned to practice on Wednesday, but without star running back Christian McCaffrey. The electric dual threat logged a DNP to begin the week due to a calf injury, prompting some questions about his health.

CMC was listed out again on Thursday as well. However, McCaffrey gave a huge update on his status when talking with reporters.

McCaffrey was asked if there was any chance he won't be able to play in the NFC Championship. He stated plainly "Zero," showcasing strong confidence in his health for Sunday's contest.

This news is a major relief. McCaffrey's had obvious health struggles throughout his career, so it's a big thing anytime he lands on the injury report. However, it appears the 49ers are just resting their stud RB to make sure he's 100% before taking on Philadelphia.

McCaffrey figures to be a major part of gameplan once again as San Francisco aims to knock off the 1-seed Eagles. The trade acquisition has scored a touchdown in eight straight games for the Niners and recorded nine TDs overall during this stretch.

The 49ers are listed as 2.5-point underdogs against the Eagles, according to FanDuel Sportsbook's NFL odds.
