49ers Face Surprising Odds to Win Super Bowl in 2021 as Reigning NFC Champions

The San Francisco 49ers exceeded expectations in 2019, finishing the regular season with an NFC-best 13-3 record. They dominated opponents at the point of attack both on offense and defense. Unfortunately for the Niners faithful, the season did not end as they would have hoped, coming up short in the Super Bowl.

Hoping to re-tool for another run at the title, the 49ers are being disrespected by oddsmakers. Currently, their odds to win the Super Bowl are still +900, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

San Francisco's +900 odds give them the best odds in the NFC to win the Super Bowl, which makes sense, given they were the regular and postseason NFC champs in 2019. However, they have just the third-best overall odds to win it all, with the Kansas City Chiefs (+650) and Baltimore Ravens (+700) both ahead of them by a generous amount. Many would argue that the separation between the 49ers and these two teams is not as large as the odds may suggest.

The Niners are no stranger to being disrespected by the books, after having a low projected win total for this season as well. Currently, they are projected for 10.5 wins, despite going 13-3 last season. Many of the industry's experts do not agree with this projected win total, going on record of predicting more wins this season.

The 49ers are yet again being disrespected and overlooked, after a full season of being doubted and proving the skeptics wrong. The odds are just adding more fuel to the fire, and this team again has something to prove this season.
