4 Stats That Prove the Packers Are True NFC Title Contenders After Week 16 Win Over Vikings
By Zach Brunner

Following their Week 16 upset win against the Minnesota Vikings, the Green Bay Packers have clinched the NFC North and a top-three seed in the NFC playoffs. Heading into the final week of the regular season, the Packers currently sit second in the NFC, with a 12-3 record. Yet, they are not getting the respect they deserve.
Since they are not blowing out opponents or lighting up the scoreboard, Green Bay has often been left out of the conversations about the league's top contenders. However, these four stats prove that the Packers are a true contender in the NFC.
1. Best Home Record in NFL
It's never easy to get a win at Lambeau Field, but it becomes even tougher when it truly transforms into the "Frozen Tundra" this time of year. The Packers currently have the best home record in the NFL (7-1), and Aaron Rodgers' career record at home speaks for itself (71-18-1). If the Packers hang onto the two seed or climb to the top, they will be a tough out in the playoffs.
2. Lowest INT-Per-Pass Percentage
It's tough to beat a team in the playoffs that doesn't turn it over, and that is the style of play Rodgers lives by. He only has three interceptions on the season, despite 514 pass attempts. That equals an interception on just 0.58 percent of his throws, which leads the league.
3. Aaron Jones Leads NFL in TDs From Scrimmage
Speaking of leading the league, Aaron Jones leads the NFL in touchdowns from scrimmage. He's ran for 16 scores, adding another three through the air. So, when many argue that Rodgers' offensive numbers aren't impressive, it could be because of Jones' ability to find the end zone.
4. Scoring Defense is Among the Elite
The Packers surrender just 19.5 points per game this season. This ranks them just 0.2 points per game behind the 49ers and 2.6 points above the Saints, who are considered the Packers' two biggest threats in the NFC. And finally, the last time the Packers had a top-10 scoring defense, they won the Super Bowl. They rank No. 9 in scoring defense heading into Week 17.
