Following the departure of head coach Ed Orgeron, the LSU Tigers made a huge splash by prying Brian Kelly away from his post at Notre Dame to come down to Baton Rouge and coach the Tigers. While making a high-profile coaching change can surely have it's advantages, it inevitably creates some collateral damage, and we saw some of that come to fruition on Tuesday.
Decoldest Crawford LSU
4-star wide receiver recruit Decoldest Crawford announced he will be de-commiting from LSU and reopening his recruitment. The class of 2022 wideout ranks as WR60 in the nation.
Crawford was recruited by Orgeron and his staff, so its understandable that he might reconsider his choice after their departure. When these recruits commit to a program, they commit to the coaches, staff and their plans for them from a football sense just as much as the program and other factors, if not more.
So when that all changes, apprehension is understandable. While this is disappointing for the Tigers, they do already have 11 wide receivers on the roster, so they should be able to withstand this. The Tigers just have to hope not too many more recruits follow Crawford's path.
