While the AL has featured a host of surprises thus far, like the emergence of the Tampa Bay Rays and the apparent fall of the Boston Red Sox, the NL has largely been as expected.

The Los Angeles Dodgers and Philadelphia Phillies were the two favorites in the NL ahead of the season, and those two lead their respective divisions and still have the best odds to win the NL Pennant, according to FanDuel Sportsbook.

Of course that doesn't mean the season will be chalk forever. There are some contenders that could pull off an upset in the postseason. With that in mind, here are three underdogs that could win the 2019 NL Pennant based on odds on from FanDuel Sportsbook.

3. Arizona Diamondbacks (+1700)

The Arizona Diamondbacks have jumped out to an impressive start, going 20-16 thus far. Arizona's lineup has been relentless this season, averaging an MLB-best 9.31 hits per game. The Diamondbacks also lead the league in doubles per game (2.42) and they rank fifth in RBI per game, averaging 5.06. If Arizona can get more consistent pitching, the Diamondbacks could be a team to be reckoned with this postseason.

2. Atlanta Braves (+950)

After winning the NL East last season, the Atlanta Braves entered 2019 with a ton of expectations. At 18-18, they haven't necessarily delivered, but this team still has a ton of potential. The Braves' lineup has been effective, ranking No. 5 in the MLB in batting average and No. 6 in walks per game. If the Braves patch up their leaky bullpen and starting rotation, they could be dangerous come October.

1. Chicago Cubs (+900)

The Chicago Cubs started the season 2-7 and have gone 18-6 since. They're the hottest team in baseball and lead the NL Central. However, Chicago's odds to win the 2019 NL Pennant don't necessarily reflect that, as the Cubs are still +900 to make it to the World Series. With a rapidly-improving lineup, and a proven postseason winner in Jon Lester, Chicago has the talent to represent the NL in the 2019 World Series.
